We know there are ton of running clubs out there to choose from. Being a part of the San Tan Trial Runners doesn’t mean you can’t hang out with other runners though…it just means that you are investing in our mission, the goals of the Board and ultimately improving both our local and trail running communities. There are additional Q&A below in case you’d like to know more about us!

Is the club focused only on trail running?Even though we love spending time on the trails, STTR is open to everyone regardless of their running preferences.
I'm a new runner and not very fast. Will I get left behind at group runs?Never. All pace groups are represented during group runs and no one is ever left behind.
How long has the club been a non-profit?The San Tan Trail Runners achieved non-profit status April 19, 2019.
How is the club affiliated with the Road Runners Club of America?The San Tan Trail Runners is a 501 (c)3 organization through the Road Runners Club of America group exemption status with the IRS.
Is the club incorporated in the state of Arizona?Yes.
If I join the club, am I required to participate on the board, attend group runs or buy anything?Not at all! The club is first and foremost about building a community of runners. How much you choose to participate is completely up to you!
How do I get access to the Facebook group?Membership to the Facebook page is open to both paying and non-paying members. We do this to help cultivate the outdoor community.
What period does club membership cover?Yearly membership goes from January 1 to December 31 each year.
If I join sometime after January 1, is my membership prorated?Unfortunately no. All members pay the full fee regardless of when they join.
Is there an STTR race team?Not at this time.
What are some ways I can participate in the club without being on the Board of Directors?There are a number of committees available to join that help drive activities across the club. Helping lead group runs or just hosting socials and membership drives can be a huge help!
Are minors allowed to join?Yes but require the approval and waiver from a legal guardian.
